One-to-One Research Interviews
In-depth academic and qualitative interviews covering experiences, opinions or professional perspectives.
UK Certified Translation is a network of accredited linguists offering certified, sworn and notarised translations, plus transcription and interpreting. Fast, accurate and fully compliant for all official needs.
Turn consented research interviews, academic conversations and focus group recordings into well-structured text for analysis. Specify the recording length, participants, spoken languages, transcript style, speaker labels, timecodes and any anonymisation requirements. We will review the project scope, suitable file handling and total quote before work begins, without assuming that every qualitative research project needs the same transcript format.
Academic projects can require different transcription detail, from readable clean verbatim to analysis-ready capture of pauses, interruptions and exact words. The final approach should match the research protocol and intended method of analysis.
In-depth academic and qualitative interviews covering experiences, opinions or professional perspectives.
Moderated discussions with multiple speakers, participant labels, interaction markers and agreed conventions for overlap.
Interviews for social sciences, public policy, education, community and organisational research.
Lawfully obtained qualitative customer or stakeholder discussions for analysis by an authorised research team.
Recorded debriefs, follow-up interviews and reflection sessions converted into agreed written format.
Projects where speakers use different languages and a separate translated-transcript scope may be necessary.
Researchers may need a consistent format to code themes, compare respondents or prepare excerpts. We transcribe the audio in the agreed style; we do not independently conduct thematic analysis, verify participants’ statements or supply ethics approval. The research team should confirm consent, privacy protections, retention rules and whether names or identifying details must be anonymised. Different research methods require different conventions for hesitations and inaudible speech.
We confirm scope, suitability, cost and timing before an order or booking begins.
Send the number of files, total duration, speakers, language and transcript conventions.
Confirm permission to share, anonymisation expectations and a suitable transfer route.
Specify verbatim detail, labels, timecodes, format and delivery timetable.
Text is prepared with unclear audio indicated and delivered for research-team review.
Strict verbatim transcripts may record fillers, false starts and repetitions; clean-verbatim transcripts improve readability without changing substantive meaning. For qualitative analysis, the researcher should specify what speech features are important. Coding interview transcripts, building a codebook or analysing findings are separate research tasks and should not be assumed to be included in a standard transcription quote. Inaudible sections must be marked rather than guessed.
Confirm specific requirements. Recording consent, research ethics and data-handling obligations belong to the responsible research team.

Prices depend on recording duration, speaker count, audio clarity, specialist vocabulary, requested time markers, anonymisation work and turnaround. A quiet one-to-one interview is different from a lengthy focus group with cross-talk. We confirm the required formatting and confidentiality arrangements before any audio is shared or transcription begins.
Overlapping conversations, background noise and multiple accents can increase careful review time.
Verbatim conventions, timestamps, pseudonyms and participant labels need to be specified in advance.
Consent, secure transfer, delivery files and retention expectations should align with the research protocol.

The recipient, professional adviser or appointment organiser controls formal use and acceptance requirements.
You can request a quote for research recordings. Provide the audio duration, participant count, languages and intended transcript format.
It generally removes some speech disfluencies for readability while preserving substantive meaning, but the conventions must be agreed.
Speaker labels can be requested where the audio permits reliable identification. Overlapping or uncertain speakers should be flagged.
You can specify research-approved pseudonym or redaction conventions. The research team remains responsible for consent and privacy requirements.
Not as part of an ordinary transcription order. Coding, interpretation and thematic analysis are separate tasks to be scoped if required.
A translated transcript is a separate scope from original-language transcription. Specify both languages and the required final output.
Send the recording inventory, transcript style and deadline so the full scope and file-handling arrangements can be discussed.
